Brown Sugar Brownies |
A tasty chocolate treat for the whole family to enjoy for dessert. This recipe has a thin layer of chocolate icing on top which makes it extra special.
Chocolate Brownies
Serves 12
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 cup flour
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs, beaten slightly
1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup walnuts, chopped
Icing:
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 cup flour
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs, beaten slightly
1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup walnuts, chopped
Icing:
1/4 cup icing sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons cocoa powder
1 tablespoon milk
Preheat oven to 350° F.
Melt butter on the stovetop or in the microwave for 10 seconds or until melted.
In a separate bowl mix together all dry ingredients.
Combine melted butter, eggs, milk and vanilla, then add to dry ingredients. Fold in nuts.
Spoon into an 8 x 8 inch pan lined with parchment paper and bake for 20 minutes or until wooden toothpick come out clean. Cool slightly.
